Positive: The location is quirky, sitting on the edge of a forest area, on the edge of town. Quiet and removed from the hustle and bustle of the main street, it's still easy enough to walk up the road to get to where you want to be. There are also some good places to eat and a launderette on that walk, so it's not too onerous. The staff were friendly and welcoming, with a big smile and pleasant conversation. The room is plenty spacious, with a large double bed with side table, a desk, a wardrobe space, and also 2 armchairs and a coffee table, and a decent little fridge. There was also a kettle (that had probably seen better days) and 2 teacups with saucers.

Negative: The bed was rock solid, like sleeping on a plank of wood, and the pillows were far too firm, so to avoid a sore neck, it was better to not use them. The cleanliness of the place was leaving a lot to be desired, particularly in the bathroom, there was black mould on the ceiling and all around the shower. The tap was loose in the sink, which meant that water quite often went off on an angle, drenching you if the flow was too much. The bidet water pipe was continuously dripping and running behind the back of the toilet. The floor of the room had seen much better days, and had been gaffer taped in places to prevent further lifting of the wood, but it didn't help, and as you walked around it the room, it sounded and felt like you were going to fall through. Lighting was poor as well, especially in the bathroom. There's a lack of natural light anyway because you're inside the canopy line of the trees, but the best light in the room came from the bedside lamp. I had to use the torch on my phone to be able to shave my face properly over the sink. The window in the bathroom also is of the common Thai style that doesn't close, but that meant that there were many visitors trying to get into the room regularly. Mosquitoes the most common, but also slugs and snails and a lizard. Overall a very worn and low standard of accommodation, which is a real shame, because the people are lovely!
