Our 105m2 apartment is located in the village of Les Praz, in a private chalet comprising just three apartments. Please note that the other two apartments are not short term lets, so it is important to us that our guests respect our neighbours!
Our smoke free light-filled home occupies most of the top floor of the building, facing Mont Blanc (South West), with spectacular views of both Mont Blanc and the iconic Dru, a very sunny balcony and double-height living area.
The village of Les Praz is convenient for Chamonix, with the Flegere ski lift a 5 minute walk away, and the Trent-Jones designed golf course on the doorstep for the summer months. The village has a small gourmet market open until 7pm, several bars, up-scale hotels and restaurants. Chamonix is a very short drive, or 15-minute walk along the well-lit riverside path: the bus stop is less than 100 feet from the apartment, giving access to all of the ski lifts of the Chamonix valley. The Les Praz train station is about 5 minutes walk, giving easy access to the St Gervais / Martigny (Switzerland) line. Being just a little above Chamonix means the roads are well cleared of snow.
Our home is designed for comfortable living and entertaining, with a double-height living area of approximately 60m2. The open-plan gourmet kitchen comprises two ovens, gas hob, professional grill, microwave, dishwasher, Butlers sink and a further prep-sink on the immense granite-topped island. There is a wood-fired stove in the sitting / dining area and a gas-fired barbecue on the balcony. Also on the main floor is a double bedroom and a family bathroom with walk-in shower and a washer/dryer.
From the living room there is an open staircase to a mezzanine sitting / sleeping area and a second double / triple bedroom with en-suite bathroom. Please note that there is no handrail on the stairs so it is not suitable for elderly guests or young children.
The apartment will sleep six guests in comfort; between the two bedrooms and the mezzanine area, there is one Continental Queen sized (150cm) bed, one double (140 cm) bed and two single beds that can be pushed together if preferred.
There is a projector in the main living room for movies, and we have a large library of DVDs. There is a CD player and a limited selection of CDs.
There is access to the garage for storing skis and poles, and a heated boot rack which holds up to four pairs of ski boots. Parking for one car is outside the apartment in the driveway; there is additional free parking in the village car park 100 feet away.
